Well , The name of Language is Persian , we call it "Parsi" locally. In some languages and sometimes in English , our language is referred to as "Farsi"
It's an Indo-European language and has some 100 million speakers mostly in middle east and a large population in the U.S. (most of them are Iranian diaspora)
Iranian languages consists of a set of similar languages including "Persian","Azeri","Kurdish","Pahlavani" , "Lurish" and "Hindi"(!) with some 120 millions of speakers outside India and some 2e9 speakers in India.(All those languages have the same scripting system)
German is so much like Persian, It's so easy for us to learn . Our teacher always said that when you don't know how to say something in German , say the exact Persian form with German pronunciation and you'll be understood
We don't need to learn vocabulary for German at least, Most of German words are used in the exact same way in Persian
And nobody really knows which language was the root of these words. People in Iran use terms like "ist" for 7 thousand years
P.S.: sorry for such a long thing!
