Hi peoples!

Hi guys,

My name is Mike... and I'm a mathematician

My favourite number is ei. My favourite real number is 58008.

And I realize no one else is a member of the forum yet, so I'm just rambling to myself.

To stop you from "rambling to yourself" I thought I'd just say, well, you know, HI
And by the way, on registering, I was asked the question "What's the derivative of 7x^3". There's a similar question when commenting on the comic but there the answer is already written. Is there any possibility you could fix that?

PS. My favorite number is tau(τ) :geek:

Yup, I changed it to a simple addition problem instead, since I realize some of my target audience hasn't taken calculus yet, and it shouldn't prevent them from registering.

Good day, everyone! It's nice to see the new forums! :D
I'm studying Computer Engineering, but I'm always in the mood for maths. My favourite sequence is the powers of two.

Hello World.

My name is Khalil (خليل) and as of this post I am a first-year Software Engineer student at UOIT.
I take pride in being a nerd, I take it as a complement.

My interests span over topics such as:
  • Linux
  • Engineering
  • Programming
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Humour
The above list is in no particular order.
Try asking a mother to pick her favourite child.

My favourite quote:
A Holocaust Survivor wrote:I will never say anything that couldn't stand as the last thing I ever say.

My favourite number is .

Never mind about this:
Spoiler! :
Also Mike, can you add a LaTex engine like how xkcd did with jsMath to it's Mathematics forum?

After today's cartoon (Marriage and the Fibonaughty Sexquence, #385), Mike should have had posts 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, ...

I too am a math nut--amateur--so I like this comic. I tend to see the world sideways, if not inside out.

I am in my 50s, and live in a small town in West Dakota.

What up peeps. I'm Dominic. Undergraduate math student. Like really undergraduate. Like Cal 1 undergraduate.

So I don't get all the Spiked Math jokes, but I've gotten pretty good at googling them. Of course I don't always get em even after googling. Whatever. I pretend to laugh anyway, just to make Mike feel better.

This has to be the geekiest forum I've ever joined, and nobody's favorite number is 42 yet? C'mon man.
