I'm pretty sure that is just a clever way of denoting the number of posts that a person has made. :P

Hi,

I'm Gary, I run chess tournaments.

I've been posting in the comments for awhile, but just signed in to the forum. I have a masters degree (concentration in topological algebra with a physics minor, yes my school used graduate minors).

In grad school I learned I wasn't a good teacher, so I've spent my time in non-professional (ie non-professorial) positions.

Oh, yes, in case you couldn't tell, I like puns.
